Our Services

Septic System Service

When your drains slow down or your yard starts smelling off, you need someone who actually knows what they’re looking at. Nearly half of all North Carolina homes rely on septic, and in a rural Harnett County town like Erwin, the right contractor makes all the difference.

Precision Septic has been handling septic system services including installations, repairs, pump-outs, and inspections across the county since 1985. Ricky Holland is a Grade IV Certified Installer and Inspector, the highest certification level in the state.

You get a straight answer about what your system needs. No unnecessary work and no return visits because something got missed.

Waste Management Service

Most septic tanks need pumping every three to five years, but the right schedule depends on your household size, tank capacity, and how your system is holding up. If it’s been a while or you’re not sure where things stand, that’s reason enough to get it checked.

Precision Septic waste management services pumps and cleans residential and commercial tanks across Harnett County and has been at it since 1985. If you’d rather not track the schedule yourself, a maintenance contract takes that off your plate.

You get an honest assessment of what your system actually needs, not a default pump-out every year whether it’s necessary or not. That’s what keeps Erwin homeowners calling back.

Plumber

When water backs up into your bathroom or your kitchen sink won’t drain, you shouldn’t have to guess whether it’s a plumbing problem or a septic problem. Most homeowners end up calling two different companies before anyone actually finds the issue.

Ricky Holland holds both an NC unlimited plumbing license and Grade IV septic certifications, so Precision Septic can diagnose and fix the problem in one visit. No bouncing between a plumber and a septic company who each point at the other.

Older homes in Erwin often have plumbing and septic systems that are tightly connected. Having one contractor who is a licensed plumber and understands both sides saves you time, money, and a lot of frustration.

Drainage Service

Harnett County averages 47 inches of rain a year, nearly ten more than the national average, and that water has to go somewhere. When your yard stays soggy or pools near the house after a storm, it can shorten the life of your septic system.

Precision Septic drainage services has the excavation equipment and the local soil knowledge to solve drainage problems on Erwin properties. Whether the issue is poor grading, surface runoff, or water sitting over your drain field, the fix starts with understanding how water moves through your specific lot.

You get a solution designed for your property, not a generic recommendation. Forty years of working this ground means fewer surprises once the digging starts.

Erwin’s Rich History

The town you know today started out as “Duke,” built from scratch in 1903 to house the workers of the Erwin Cotton Mill along the Cape Fear River. When Trinity College in Durham became Duke University in the 1920s, the town needed a new name and took the mill’s instead.

For nearly a century, that mill turned out so much raw denim that Erwin earned the nickname “Denim Capital of the World.” The mill closed in 2000, but the identity it built into this community didn’t leave with it.

Neighborhoods and Streets

Erwin is a small town, and most of it still traces back to the original mill village layout. You’ll find the heart of things along 13th Street and the lettered cross streets that grid out the downtown.

  • The Dunn-Erwin Rail Trail follows the old mill railroad spur through farmland and wetlands, connecting downtown Erwin to downtown Dunn.
  • Cape Fear River Trail Park sits on 16 acres along Highway 217 with hiking trails, river overlooks, and canoe access.
  • Al Woodall Municipal Park is where most of the youth sports and community events happen, with softball fields, pickleball courts, and a splashpad.
  • Chicora Golf Club on the south side of town has been an 18-hole staple for golfers across Harnett County.

Community and Lifestyle

Your kids can walk to Erwin Elementary, and Triton High School draws from the surrounding area. Campbell University in Buies Creek is only seven miles down the road if higher education is on the radar.

Every October, the whole town shows up for Denim Days, a festival that traces back to the mill’s old “Overall Days” celebration. You’ll find a car show, a parade, carnival rides, and a lot of people catching up with neighbors they haven’t seen since last year’s festival.

Getting Around Erwin

You’re not far from anything out here, even though it feels like a world away from the Raleigh traffic. US 421 runs right through town and connects you to I-95 in Dunn, about five miles east.

  • Fayetteville is a straight 20-minute shot south on 421.
  • Raleigh is about 45 minutes north once you pick up I-40 from Benson or I-95 from Dunn.
  • Dunn sits just down the road and covers most of your shopping and medical needs if you don’t want to make the drive into Fayetteville or Raleigh.
